A lush fall centrepiece

Dress up berried and textured foliage with a touch of flowers

This lush-looking, professionally designed centrepiece has few flowers but lots of filler with different textures and tones, including red hypericum berries, silvery eucalyptus, lacy ferns, delicate boxwood and bronze-and-green magnolia leaves. Get the look for less by augmenting or replacing florists’ greens with various garden prunings—such as ivy, periwinkle and euonymus, or other shrubs with interesting leaves—to dress up a handful of blooms. Anchor stems in florists’ foam, such as Oasis, taped inside a footed container (or a glass bowl placed in a small urn). To keep the look loose yet balanced, gently turn the arrangement as you go.
