Even the most fumble-fingered can pull off this elegant presentation in a flash. Choose a small plastic pot of any perky-looking flowering plant—we opted for luxurious slipper orchids (Paphiopedilum spp.)—water well and let drain.
Slip it into a decorative cachepot (if it lacks drainage holes, add Styrofoam peanuts or gravel to the bottom to elevate the plant; if necessary, trim down rim of plastic pot to fit). For a professional finish, tuck in clumps of moistened moss and add a couple of seed pods attached to picks (optional). Done!
