Weeping blue atlas cedar
Cedrus atlantica ‘Glauca Pendula’
This tree is pliable and very easy to train (especially when young), and its drooping vertical branches give the slow-growing weeping blue Atlas cedar a unique personality. With its silvery blue evergreen needles and smooth, grey bark, it’s like having a living sculpture in the garden year-round; it can even be trained into a spiral, waterfall, espalier, arbour or wacky “What the heck is that?” shape. Drought-tolerant, this cedar adapts to most soil types but prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Trained and staked, it can ultimately reach a height of 10 metres, with a spread of five metres. Shelter from cold, drying winter winds. Zone 6.
